Pear,Cheese, Graffiti
This series was in reaction to one thing I saw at "graffiti" related shows that bugged me. Civilians glaze over when they see actual letters and ooh and ahh over any piece of realistic art* like it's some miracle. To that end, I did some realistic art and snuck some letters in in the background. I want to lure them in with a nice still life and then when their guard is down- "blam-o!" they see the styles...
*I always feel slightly patronized by that, by the way. Like it's some big shock that people who write can also paint a portrait.
